Frequently Asked Questions
What does "research use only" mean?
Research use only (RUO) means a product is supplied exclusively for laboratory research by qualified professionals. RUO materials are not drugs, dietary supplements, medical devices, or cosmetics. They have not been evaluated by the FDA, and they are not intended for use in humans or animals, for diagnostic procedures, or for any food or therapeutic application.
Is AtheonPure based in the United States?
Yes. AtheonPure is a United States company registered in Arizona, and all orders ship domestically from our Arizona facility. Orders are not drop-shipped from overseas.
Where does AtheonPure source its peptides?
AtheonPure sources its materials domestically within the United States. We do not import directly from overseas suppliers, and we do not drop-ship. Material is received, verified, and held at our Arizona facility before it is released to inventory, so every order ships from stock we have already taken custody of and tested.
Who is eligible to order from AtheonPure?
Orders are accepted only from qualified researchers, laboratories, and institutions purchasing materials for legitimate in-vitro research. By placing an order, the purchaser confirms they are at least 21 years of age and that the materials will be handled only by individuals with appropriate laboratory training.
Do I need a license or institutional affiliation to order?
No. AtheonPure does not require a license or institutional affiliation to place an order. Purchasers are responsible for confirming that their intended research use complies with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, and for handling materials in accordance with appropriate laboratory practice.
What purity standard does AtheonPure supply?
All peptides are supplied at a minimum of 99% purity as determined by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Identity is confirmed by mass spectrometry. Lot-specific results are recorded on the Certificate of Analysis.
Does AtheonPure provide a Certificate of Analysis?
Yes. A Certificate of Analysis is available for every lot. Each COA documents identity confirmation by mass spectrometry and purity by HPLC. COAs are lot-specific and matched to the lot number on your vial.
Is every lot tested, or only some?
Every lot is tested. AtheonPure does not release material to inventory without a completed analysis for that specific lot. Testing is performed by Freedom Diagnostics, an independent third-party laboratory, rather than relying solely on supplier-provided documentation.
How do I read a Certificate of Analysis?
A Certificate of Analysis records the results of testing on one specific production lot. The two sections that matter most are identity and purity. Identity is typically confirmed by mass spectrometry, which measures the molecular weight of the material and compares it against the expected weight for that compound. Purity is typically measured by HPLC, which separates the sample into its components and reports the target compound as a percentage of the total. A COA should also list the lot number, the date of analysis, and the testing laboratory, so results can be traced back to the specific material you received.
What is AtheonPure's purity guarantee?
If you independently test a product and it does not meet the specification stated on its Certificate of Analysis, send us the third-party report. AtheonPure will issue a full refund or a free replacement — your choice — and reimburse the cost of the third-party test up to $150. You keep the original vial; no return shipment is required.
What does "lyophilized" mean?
Lyophilization, also called freeze-drying, removes water from a material by freezing it and then reducing the surrounding pressure so the ice converts directly to vapor. The result is a dry powder that is substantially more stable in storage than the same material in solution. Peptides are commonly supplied lyophilized for this reason.
How should lyophilized peptides be stored?
Lyophilized peptides should be stored at -20 C, protected from light and moisture. Under these conditions, lyophilized material is generally stable long-term. Once reconstituted, peptide solutions should be refrigerated at 2-8 C and are substantially less stable than the lyophilized form.
What is the shelf life of a lyophilized peptide?
Stored properly at -20 C, protected from light and moisture, lyophilized peptides are generally stable for extended periods, commonly cited as 24 months or longer for most sequences. Shelf life is significantly shorter at room temperature, and shorter again once reconstituted. The Certificate of Analysis records the date of analysis for the lot you received.
Why does my vial look empty?
This is normal and does not indicate a problem. Lyophilized peptide is an extremely low-density powder, and a small quantity occupies very little volume. During shipping, the cake can also break apart and adhere to the sides or cap of the vial. If you have any concern about the contents of a vial, contact us and we will address it.
What is bacteriostatic water used for in a laboratory setting?
Bacteriostatic water is sterile water containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol as a preservative. In laboratory work it is used as a diluent for reconstituting lyophilized material where a multi-use container is needed, since the preservative inhibits bacterial growth across repeated withdrawals.
What payment methods does AtheonPure accept?
AtheonPure accepts credit cards with no service fee, Zelle, and Cash App. There is no surcharge on card payments. Card payments are processed through an encrypted third-party payment processor; AtheonPure does not store card details.
Is there a minimum order?
No. There is no minimum order. You may order a single vial.
Can I change or cancel my order after placing it?
Orders can be changed or cancelled at any point before they are processed. Because orders placed before 2:00 PM MST are processed and shipped the same business day, contact us as quickly as possible at support@atheonpure.com. Once an order has been processed and is in transit it cannot be recalled.
Does AtheonPure offer bulk or wholesale pricing?
Yes. Volume pricing is available for laboratories and institutions ordering in quantity. Contact support@atheonpure.com with the products and quantities you need and we will provide a quote.
How quickly are orders shipped?
Orders placed before 2:00 PM MST ship the same business day. Orders placed after 2:00 PM MST ship the following business day. All orders are sent via 2-day shipping.
Does AtheonPure offer free shipping?
Yes. Shipping is free on orders over $200. Orders below that threshold are charged standard 2-day shipping rates at checkout.
Does AtheonPure ship internationally?
No. AtheonPure ships within the United States only. We do not ship internationally.
Are shipments temperature-controlled?
Lyophilized peptides are stable at ambient temperature for the duration of a 2-day transit and do not require cold-chain shipping. Material should be moved to -20 C storage on arrival. Orders ship with 2-day service specifically to limit time in transit.
What if my package is damaged, lost, or does not arrive?
Contact support@atheonpure.com with your order number and we will resolve it. Damaged, incorrect, or missing items are replaced at no charge and do not need to be shipped back. For packages showing as delivered but not received, or lost in transit, we will file a carrier claim and send a replacement.
What is AtheonPure's return policy?
AtheonPure has a strict no-return policy: once a package leaves our facility, storage conditions can no longer be verified, so we do not accept returns of research materials. Orders can be cancelled for a full refund any time before they are processed. Damaged, incorrect, or missing items are replaced at no charge and do not need to be shipped back. AtheonPure also honors a purity guarantee: if independent third-party testing shows a product falls outside the specification on its Certificate of Analysis, we will issue a full refund or a free replacement and reimburse the cost of the test up to $150.
Why doesn't AtheonPure provide dosing or usage information?
AtheonPure supplies research materials, not drugs or supplements. None of the products sold by AtheonPure are approved by the FDA for use in humans or animals, and providing administration or dosing guidance would represent them as something they are not. Our staff cannot advise on use in humans or animals under any circumstances. We are glad to answer questions about product identity, purity, specification, handling, and storage.
All products are sold strictly for laboratory and research use only. Not for human or animal consumption, ingestion, injection, or diagnostic use. Not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
