Research reference
Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide is a dinucleotide composed of adenosine monophosphate linked through a phosphate group to nicotinamide mononucleotide. It functions both as a coenzyme in hydride-transfer redox reactions and as a substrate for NAD⁺-consuming enzymes including ADP-ribose transferases, poly(ADP-ribose) polymerases, cyclic ADP-ribose synthases, and sirtuins. NAMPT is the rate-limiting enzyme of the salvage biosynthesis pathway. Research use only. Not for human consumption.
