Research reference
GHK is an endogenous tripeptide, glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine, first isolated from human plasma by Pickart in 1973; GHK-Cu is its copper(II) complex. The 1980 Nature report describes the tripeptide as facilitating copper uptake into cells. Fibroblast culture work describes stimulation of collagen synthesis by the tripeptide-copper complex, and later gene-expression analysis characterizes GHK as modulating a broad set of human genes associated with tissue remodeling.
